The review in words
The Neverending Story is an imaginative fantasy about the power of stories and the temptation to lose yourself in them. Michael Ende gives Fantastica a sense of wonder, but there’s sadness and danger beneath its magical surface. The pace can feel slow in places, especially as the story becomes more reflective, but its ideas about identity, wishes and responsibility give it depth. A thoughtful choice for readers who enjoy strange worlds and adventures that leave them something to think about.
